Turning a deaf ear to the Conventions of Collective Wisdom, Lorne Bradshaw
maintains his pursuit of exquisite tone...without the suitcase! Unable to define
"distortion" as the sound of rattling locks, latches, and plastic handles, Lorne
insists on letting his tubes do the talking. Clinically, this would be described
as OCD. He has been known, on accession, to hear coded messages in the pin
rattle of the #9 pin on some late 50's design preamps. The world always misunderstands genius.
In seeking greater tone versatility, Lorne is also the only member of the
Collective to be able (with ingenious circuit design) to coax half-watt power
volume from an amp weighing in just under the tonnage of an ocean liner. He has
a deep love for heavy iron...never turns down a transformer...even if he can't
lift it. Lorne also prefers to work in nearly complete darkness. His claim is
that he doesn't have a shop light for his bench. In the interest of full
disclosure for this bio...it has more to do with hiding all the stuff he is
accumulating from the eye of his wonderfully patient wife Kim.
Lorne and Kim reside in Albany, Oregon with Lorne's fourteen electric and six
acoustics guitars, and his Pit Bull, Overdrive.
