Very Unique Nielsen Tube Guitar Amp

Dual 6V6 outputs with 6AV6 and 6AN8 pre-amp and phase inverter and 5Y3 rectifier. Single new 12" Celestion G12-30 MG speaker. Very loud for it's size and it breaks up nicely when driven. Brand new Russian 6V6 output tubes, NOS 6AV6, and NOS 6AN8.

One of a kind amp started out life as a Newcomb school record player. I've removed the negative feedback circuit to let it overdrive even better.

Please call Mike at 541-974-3358 to set up time to demo.

Price: $250.00

AIMS 4x12

Rare, good condition early 70's AIMS VTG 105 two channel guitar amplifier. Two 6550 output tubes develop 105 Watts into four 10" speakers. Sounds like a beautiful Fender Twin. Foot switch-able lush reverb and tremolo. Foot switch not included. Very retro control panel. AIMS was a company founded by some ex Fender employees who went on to form Randall Amplification.

Some minor rips on tolex, small dent in front panel and a couple of tears in grill cloth. Modified to include variable bias adjustment. Output tube sockets have been replaced with high temp. ceramic sockets.

Call Mike at 541-974-3358 for a time to come by and demo.

Price: $600.00 obo.

Vacuum Tube Collective “COMET”Amp Stack

Built: June 2008 in Corvallis, Oregon
Speaker Box: Mike Dowless
Amp Head: Niels Nielsen

Collaborative project between Niels and Mike. Amp head contains a small, transistorized 10 watt PA amp chassis from the 1960’s with oxblood chickenhead knobs. Matching closed-back speaker box contains a single light cone 12” speaker. This combo is voiced for blues harp; even though it is solid-state it still breaks up very well and sounds hot with one of Dave Wren’s handmade blues harp mics.

Price: $225

Nielsen Guitar Amp “University #7”

Built:  May 2008 at the Vacuum Tube Collective in Corvallis, Oregon
Cabinetry and chassis: Niels Nielsen

University #7

Transistor circuit based on a 10-watt University Sound PA amplifier. I think I put a Celestion 12” in the strengthened, closed-back suitcase. At any rate, very good blues harp tone and hot breakup when used with one of Dave Wren’s handmade harp mics (also available from the Collective).

Price: $150

Nielsen Amp “Karaoke Suitcase”

Built: March 2008 at the Vacuum Tube Collective in Corvallis, Oregon
Cabinetry and chassis: Niels Nielsen

This is a 20 watt solid-state Radio Shack portable karaoke amp built into a matching suitcase set. The open-back speaker box contains a light-cone 12” alnico speaker. It works well as a clean little one-channel PA, and it breaks up well when used with a Dave Wren blues harp mic.

Price: $150

Matching Nielsen “Suitcase Lid Bass #5” And Bourgeois “Tel-Lid-Caster” guitar

Built:  March-June 2008 at the Vacuum Tube Collective in Corvallis, Oregon

The bass is an Ibanez 4-string of recent manufacture, cut down by Nielsen to fit into the lid from one of his suitcase amp installations. The headstock is covered with a piece of the same vinyl that the suitcase set was covered with. It has a fresh set of medium-light roundwounds on it and is set up with fairly low action. It balances well and has useable tone with lots of spank and snap.

Price: $250

The guitar is an import tele copy, similarly cut down by Mitch Bourgeois to fit another lid from the same suitcase set and trimmed to match the bass. It also has useable tone and is quite playable.

Price: $250

The wig stand is our mascot, DiDi Gospodinova, wearing a hand-made Nielsen Fake Leopardskin fez. She looks over all our activities and occasionally gets a free ride home in the back seat of a Collective member’s car after a late-night tonal meeting at Nielsen’s garage laboratory. She is currently not for sale.
