Very Unique Nielsen Tube Guitar AmpDual 6V6 outputs with 6AV6 and 6AN8 pre-amp and phase inverter and 5Y3 rectifier. Single new 12" Celestion G12-30 MG speaker. Very loud for it's size and it breaks up nicely when driven. Brand new Russian 6V6 output tubes, NOS 6AV6, and NOS 6AN8. One of a kind amp started out life as a Newcomb school record
player. I've removed the negative feedback circuit to let it
overdrive even better. Price: $250.00 |

Transistor circuit based on a 10-watt University Sound PA
amplifier. I think I put a Celestion 12” in the strengthened,
closed-back suitcase. At any rate, very good blues harp tone and hot
breakup when used with one of Dave Wren’s handmade harp mics (also
available from the Collective). |

Nielsen Amp “Karaoke Suitcase”
|
|
|
This is a 20 watt solid-state Radio Shack portable karaoke
amp built into a matching suitcase set. The open-back speaker box
contains a light-cone 12” alnico speaker. It works well as a clean
little one-channel PA, and it breaks up well when used with a Dave
Wren blues harp mic. |

Matching Nielsen “Suitcase Lid Bass #5” And Bourgeois “Tel-Lid-Caster” guitarBuilt: March-June 2008 at the Vacuum Tube Collective in Corvallis, Oregon |
|
|
The bass is an Ibanez 4-string of recent manufacture, cut
down by Nielsen to fit into the lid from one of his suitcase amp
installations. The headstock is covered with a piece of the same
vinyl that the suitcase set was covered with. It has a fresh set of
medium-light roundwounds on it and is set up with fairly low action.
It balances well and has useable tone with lots of spank and snap.
